Credit Recovery With a Fresh Start.
For students who need to catch up, recover credits, rebuild confidence, and move back toward graduation with structure, support, and a clear plan.
No shame. No guessing. Just a path forward.
Start With a Transcript Review
Before placing a student in credit recovery, SHCTA reviews available academic records to identify what credits have been earned, what may be missing, and what recovery pathway may fit best.
Students Should Not Be Defined by What They Missed
Many students fall behind because of school transitions, life circumstances, attendance challenges, learning differences, anxiety, family barriers, or simply not having the right environment. SHCTA helps students recover academically while rebuilding confidence, structure, and direction.
Recover Credits
Students complete assigned coursework to recover failed, missing, or incomplete credits based on transcript review and academic need.
Build a Plan
Families receive a clearer picture of where the student stands and what steps may be needed to move toward graduation.
Restore Confidence
Credit recovery is paired with structure, pacing, support, and encouragement so students can regain momentum.
A Supportive Option for Students Who Need to Get Back on Track
SHCTA’s credit recovery pathway may support students from public, charter, private, homeschool, online, or alternative learning backgrounds.

No Graduation Date Guarantee
Completion depends on transcript needs, attendance or engagement, pacing, course completion, mastery requirements, and program requirements.
Common Questions
Is this only for SHCTA students?
No. SHCTA may serve enrolled students and supplemental students who are enrolled elsewhere. If a student is currently enrolled at another school, that school decides whether outside credit recovery will be accepted.
Do you use TEKS-approved curriculum?
TEKS is not an approval agency. SHCTA uses school-approved curriculum designed to align with applicable academic standards where appropriate. SHCTA does not represent that its curriculum is approved by TEA.
How long does credit recovery take?
It depends on the number of credits needed, the student’s pace, attendance or engagement, course requirements, and support level. A better estimate can be given after transcript review.
Can students work online?
Yes. Online options may be available for students ages 13 and up, depending on placement and program fit. On-campus support may be available for eligible students ages 16 and up.
What if my student needs more support?
SHCTA offers supported credit recovery, on-campus lab support, academic coaching, and referrals to student support services when appropriate.
Can organizations sponsor students?
Yes. SHCTA offers partner and organization pricing for groups that want to sponsor credit recovery access, support, reporting, or structured lab programming.
